Japanese Style, Italian Production
Pedal Ed was set up in 2007 by Tokyo-based designer Hideto Suzuki, to create beautiful, functional cycling apparel. Hideto began designing clothing for cycling after finding limited choices for his own riding, and Pedal Ed was born. Focusing on the design principles of 'balance and harmony', the pieces are simple, functional and unique. They utilise natural colours and and high performance fabrics.
Modern Race Heritage
Since 2013, Pedal Ed has supported the Transcontinental Race, one of the world's toughest ultra-endurance races. This annual self-supported race across Europe was founded by British ultra-distance cyclist Mike Hall. The race is open to all (although places are limited) and is considered by many to capture the spirit of the early days of bicycle racing, the days before team cars and soigneurs, when a field of intrepid individuals competed against each other, extreme conditions and an incredibly hardcore route to make their name and fortune.
Pedal Ed also supports the JLT Condor team.
The Pedal Ed Women's Collection
In line with Pedal Ed's overall design approach, the new women's range has a simple but stylish aesthetic and minimalist design - everything you need and nothing you don't. Pieces are richly colourful without being overly bright or garish and the colour palette is subtle but attractive. Design is classy, with fabrics that look and feel luxurious, as well as having the technical goods to back them up. The kit would suit a range of types of riding and circumstances - summer cycling holidays, regular day rides, ventures out on the local trails, towpaths and forest tracks. We can't wait for it to arrive here soon - watch this space and check out some of the highlights below to whet your appetite!
